| Frank Loye and Kevin Butts release Leech Lake strain
muskies into Lake Geneva. This was the first of five stockings in memory of club member Dean Rosset.
It is also the start of a partnership between the Chicagoland Muskie Hunters and the Wisconsin DNR. In addition to stocking
the Leech Lake muskies, we are donating funds to the DNR each year to help fund PIT tagging efforts. The PIT tagging will take place
each year during its annual netting/surveying work and in 2022 the DNR will be conducting a genetic study to determine the
relative survival and growth rates of the Leech Lake strain muskies we've planted compared to the various Wisconsin strain
fish the state is putting into the system.
